Skiing during a Sandstorm in the Mountains – Val d’Arán Baqueira Pyrenees Ski Touring
Finally back to skiing! After almost 2 long months of winter, we finally found a way to go skiing without breaking any rules. But apparently, even if it was mid-February, the landscape looked very unusual! A recent Saharan sandstorm had left the mountains orange-brown, full of sand!
This adventure lasted two days, 20 and 21st of February. On day 1, we skied Tuca Salana and on the second day we aimed for Tuc de Parros, but chose the wrong path and decided to turn around because a new sandstorm was beginning to reduce visibility.
At least we got to ski a little bit and I got to try my new skis (K2 Wayback 96 LTD by Geoff McFetridge) and new camera, GoPro Hero 9.
